Galway Races

The Galway Races holds a very special place in the heart of many race-goers from across the globe, and indeed in the hearts of Galwegians themselves. Over the course of the year there are a number of punter meetings as well as the July festival meeting - the Cheltemham of Ireland.
Galway race-track is a right handed course of one mile and two furlongs, with a steep decline into the dip where the last two fences are situated. These fences are famous for being the closest two fences on any racecourse in the world. There is a sharp incline to the finish line.
